At Get the Goods, we have selected Taschen books (more like art objects) that are limited editions, usually less than 1,000 copies, that are signed by the artist.
We highlight 2 of our favorites – both created by Ellen von Unwerth. Unwerth worked as a top fashion model for 10 years, before taking up the camera and becoming one of the world’s most in-demand fashion photographers. Her work has been featured in countless magazines, including Vogue, Interview, Vanity Fair, and i-D, while her advertising campaigns include Victoria’s Secret and Chanel.
The Story of Olga is the second book following the sold out, The Book of Olga. Set in a glorious French château, a photographic narrative traces the journey of the young widow Olga, who, after the death of her wealthy, elderly husband, is overtaken by an insatiable lust. Olga the sexually candid heroine seeks out unexpected lovers, The Story of Olga is a transgressive, irresistible fantasy like you’ve never seen before. Von Unwerth’s team of artists on this project include London-born Anna Trevelyan, a young stylist who creates a unique and eye-catching style that is dark, beautiful, provocative, and sexually charged; and French master set designer and prop stylist extraordinaire Fabienne Eisenstein, who is responsible for creating the pagan rituals and extravagant dinner scenes at the château.
Heimat is a tantalizing tour through Unwerth’s childhood homeland of Bavaria. Amid stunning scenery and charming traditions, frolic in the company of the most rugged farmhands and luscious maidens, all too ready to share their love for the region, and to discard their lederhosen and dirndls.
