Store Manager/Assistant Buyer

Start Date: Immediate 

Term: Year Round, Full Time, Salary. 

Salary: $40000-$50000 based on experience 

Get the Goods is an artisanal store located in Creekside Village. You can find curated gifts for every person in your life. We celebrate the bespoke, the handmade and the beautifully crafted. Get the Goods has an evolving collection of objects that will inspire you to build, create, write, read, converse and to think. The Store Manager/Assistant Buyer will be responsible for day to day operations, business administration, marketing and development of strategic partnerships.  This is a rare opportunity to curate a range of unique gifts and work closely with the founder to source products from around the world. The position of Store Manager/Assistant Buyer will be a fun, challenging, and dynamic role where you will get an opportunity to demonstrate your experience alongside an outstanding and supportive team. 

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Developing store strategies to raise customers’ pool, expand store traffic and increase  sales 
  • Meeting sales goals by training, motivating, mentoring and providing feedback to store staff
  • Complete store administration and ensure compliance with policies and procedures 
  • Ensuring high levels of customer’s satisfaction through excellent service
  • Maintain outstanding store condition and visual merchandising standards 
  • Report on buying trends, customer needs, etc
  • Propose and execute innovative ideas to increase market share 
  • Conduct staff performance appraisals and identify training needs
  • Deal with all issues that arise from staff or customers (special orders, complaints, grievances etc) 
  • Communicating daily tasks to staff
  • Scheduling staff
  • Plan and lead monthly staff meetings
  • Create marketing budget and schedule of advertisements 
  • Build rapport with local hotel concierges, interior designers, vacation concierges to promote Get the Goods
  • Liaise with Graphic Designer with marketing briefs
  • Monitor inventory and place re-orders 
  • Research new brands and reach out to new suppliers
  • Develop e-commerce with website developers 

Desired Qualifications & Skills

  • Business Management Certification or equivalent relevant experience 
  • Proven success as experience as a retail manager 
  • Computer proficiency; Microsoft Office, Lightspeed POS and experience with Macbook Computers
  • Strong organizational skills 
  • Proficient communication and interpersonal skills

Starting at $14/hr (may be more based on experience) 


Get the Goods is looking for friendly, outgoing and  customer service-oriented people to join our team.

The suitable applicant should be self-motivated and passionate about Get the Goods concept and products. 


Get the Goods is an independently owned business offering fun perks like staff parties and summer movie nights. 

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Ensuring high levels of customer’s satisfaction through excellent service
  • Maintain outstanding store condition and visual merchandising standards 
  • Building rapport with regular customers
  • Completing daily tasks set by the Store Manager
  • Learning the stories behind the many products we have at Get the Goods
  • Regular up-keep of the store cleanliness
  • Opening and closing the till for full time staff

Desired Qualifications & Skills

  •  Previous experience in retail is an asset but not required 
  • Computer proficiency; Microsoft Office and willingness to learn Lightspeed (point of sale system) 
  • Proficient communication and interpersonal skills

Get the Goods Exchange Policy

  

If for some reason you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, we will gladly issue a store credit or exchange within 30 days of purchase. The item must be returned in new, unused condition in its original package, with a copy of your receipt.

For defective merchandise, the item needs to be returned to Get the Goods with original receipt within 30 days of purchase. Get the Goods will then send the item with the original purchase receipt to vendor for them to decide if the item is defective. If deemed defective the vendor will either replace or repair the product. Expect 4-6 weeks for this process.
